I keep seeing all these great ideas for decorating and/or filling clear glass ornaments (on Pinterest, of course!), so I decided to compile a big list of all my favorites. Just click on the picture to take you to the tutorial by the original creator. This is so rustic, and I love the tiny little pine cones: Here’s a simpler version, but equally gorgeous (I think this might be a spring of rosemary): And since I’m on a rustic theme, isn’t this cute? A little bit of holly, faux snow, and some tiny wooden blocks, and you’ve got yet another variation: An ornament filled with pearls… very elegant. You could even fill an ornament with cheap dollar store beaded necklaces! Or mini gift bows! I think this is my favorite idea of all… put your kid’s Christmas list inside an ornament and you’ve got a keepsake forever. How awesome will that be years from now? Here’s a couple of different ideas for using fake snow. This one is simply a paper tree cut out, glittered, and surrounded by snow:

Solid red paper strips made into a Santa belly ornament: I have seen paper strips cut from books inside glass ornaments before, but this is different; decorate your house 30th birthday partythe book pages are punched into snowflake shapes: I would have never thought rolls of yarn and rope would look so great in an ornament: How about filling an ornament with jingle bells? I also found a few ideas for great wedding keepsakes. I just love homemade Christmas ornaments!  Not only do they bring extra warmth to any Christmas tree, but they made great gifts as well!  I have 3 tutorials for some super easy ornaments I made last year using clear glass ball ornaments. You can pick up glass ball ornaments at any craft store like Michaels or Hobby Lobby, and I’ve even seen them at WalMart and Target for well under $5  (use a coupon and get them even cheaper) – making each one $1 or less

First up, and probably my favorite……….the Glitter Snowflake! These were SOOO incredibly easy, my girls and I plan to make many more! I love that you get the look of GLITTER with out the GLITTER MESS! We made Snow Filled ornaments last year and enjoyed them so much, they were first on our list for this year! This is a GREAT last minute gift idea, because you can seriously make one in under 5 mins. They even look nice with out the vinyl………. What a great gift for anyone, but especially for those who don’t have snow! Last up……….but certainly not least………a little more bling! I hope you have fun making some of these ornaments for gifts…….they’re so quick and fun, you can even let the kids help make their own personalized ornaments to place on the tree! The possibilities with these clear glass balls are just endless!!………….Don’t forget the Christmas music and hot chocolate!
