We are ramping up the Christmas spirit here at HoneyKids’ HQ, and now we’ve found the , our sessions are sorted, and we’ve booked tix to the merry shows happening around Singapore, next we need to know where to shop for our Christmas trees. Nothing says like a dazzling tree bedecked in decorations and lights galore, and we’ve got the scoop on where to bag yourself a festive fir. So whether you want to throw tons of tinsel at a fake number, or fancy the smell of pine wafting through your home with the real deal, we’ve taken a sleigh-ride around town to find the best places to buy real and fake Christmas trees in Singapore this year. On the count of three: Far East Flora Known for its vast selection of plants and flowers at its two massive nurseries along Thomson Road, Far East Flora is packed with stacks of small, medium and giant trees, starting from $115 for a 4-5ft number, up to around $800 for a 12ft whopper. Trees can be delivered from 21 November, and early orders bag a discount too.

We also love the gorgeous wreath options and seasonal blooms to perk up your festive table settings, and don’t forget to check out its fab food and gift hampers too!

Be warned: stocks run out quicker than you can say ‘mince pies’ so make sure you to save disappointment. Prince’s Landscape & Construction Pah! Why go for a teeny tree when you can go for a gargantuan 18 foot Noble fir? While many of us would have to bend an enormous tree in half to fit it into our home, we say if you’ve got the space then go for it! Arms not long enough to plonk the star on the top? These guys also offer a full shebang tree decorating service too. But for those of us who need an average size tree for an average size house, firs start at $189 for a 4ft tree which includes, and this we love: free delivery, set up and dismantling of your tree (no matter the size). Song Lang Gardens If you’ve left the scramble for a real tree until the last minute and are fearing you may have to decorate the rosemary bush on your balcony with tinsel instead (yes, we’ve done that), worry not. Take yourself to Song Lang Gardens on the East Coast where stocks generally avoid the tree stampede infamous at some of the bigger nurseries, and prices are kept reasonable too.

Trees will be arriving from the first week of December. /SongLangGardenChristmas Tree Singapore If a real-looking faux tree is the name of your Christmas game this year, Christmas Tree Singapore will make your festive wishes comes true. We love the amazing German developed FirTECT technology used to bring these trees (practically) to life, and that every tree has an abundance of dense green foliage and lifelike branches to ensure the illusion of the real deal. Pssst: look out for the HoneyKids team at the upcoming , where we’ll be giving away two beautiful trees courtesy of Christmas Tree Singapore! Tangs Tangs is our seasonal go-to when it comes to adding some festive cheer to our homes. The store is decked out with everything from baubles to ornaments, wreaths to table pieces, and, of course, artificial Christmas trees! Whether you want a shiny black number, a dazzling white show-stopper, or a traditional green fir, Tangs will have you kitted out with all your tree and decorations needs in the blink of an eye.

Vanda Win Vanda Win’s artificial trees are so life-like that not even Santa himself would be able to spot it for a fake! Trees range up to 8ft and come in a variety of colours: we love its classic green Danbury fir options but are also drawn to the idea of a white Christmas with a shiny snow coloured tree too. Buy your tree either naked and ready for you to throw some tinsel at, or purchase a ready-decorated tree if you’re feeling time-crunched – or unable to find your inner-tree designer. IKEA Whilst there may have been a collective sob around the island when IKEA announced it would not be stocking real trees this year, we soon cheered right back up when we checked out the Fejka tree range – great faux fir options in all shapes and sizes at sensible wallet-friendly prices. Cold Storage Cold Storage supermarket is not just about groceries: it is also a secret fake fir heaven! Pop in store and pick up an artificial tree while you pick up your turkey and all the trimmings too! Online ordering is also available (for trees and turkey).

Robinsons Robinsons is a department store that knows how to do Christmas! Shop for your faux tree, sparkling ornaments and twinkling fairy lights while humming along to Christmas carols from mid-November. Giant Hypermarkets Christmas on a budget is the name of the game over at Giant this year and with its weekly and monthly promos on all things merry and bright, picking up all your festive needs has never been more affordable: and that includes the tree and all its trimmings! It’s that time of year when the sleigh bells are ringing and lights are twinkling. Now just because we live in Singapore and the weather never changes (unless you count the freezing air conditioning in the mall) doesn’t mean we can’t get into the Christmas spirit! Nothing says Christmas like a massive tree in your house filled with colored lights and ornaments, not to mention all the colorfully wrapped presents. If you are looking for a real or an “almost” real tree in Singapore, do not fret – there are plenty of places to buy one.

Most of the major shopping malls and department stores do have a Christmas section that offers a variety of fake trees, ornaments and décor. You will also find a “Christmas / Holiday” fair in the center atrium of most of the shopping malls in Singapore. The upscale malls on Orchard Blvd usually have a selection of more unique ornaments vs. the mainstream malls which carry your everyday Christmas decor. Below is a list of some of the shops that sell a selection of Christmas trees & decorations in Singapore. Super Note: Just click on the store name to take you to their website to find their exact locations and details regarding the types of trees they have in stock. Please use your own excellent judgment in purchasing your tree.Make sure to start your Christmas decorating early!! Supplies are limited in Singapore and once they run out there will be no more until next year. – Discuss & Plan. Plan with the family what type of tree you want to have – real or fake. Also discuss the colors of the decorations.

Most of the stores selling artificial Christmas trees, will also sell a variety of Christmas decorations, so it is good to know ahead of time so you don’t have to make a second trip. Super Note: If you want to get in the Christmas spirit, but don’t want to go all out, just fyi – Daiso (my favorite $2 store) sells mini-Christmas trees and other decorations. The mini-trees are great for kid’s arts & craft projects or decorating your desk at the office. – Investment or One Time Purchase? Decide if your tree and decorations are something you want to use year after year, or do you intend to change the theme every year. Super Note: We invested in an 8 foot artificial white Christmas tree (about SG$300) from Paragon 9 years ago and use the same one every year we are in town. Now before you get in your car, bus, taxi, MRT to start your Christmas tree hunt, my advice is to call these places and ask them if they have what you are looking for! The last thing you want is to get there in be disappointed.

– Ask for a Stock Check. If you need a day to think about your purchase before you buy, make sure to ask the store associate how many items they have in stock, otherwise you may return the next day and find that the “hot pink” Christmas tree you had your heart set on is now sold out.If you are buying a real tree, try to see if they deliver. If you do not want delivery, make sure to bring a big tarp or garbage bags. You will want to layer your trunk or your roof with something before placing the tree there. If you can’t get it in Singapore, shop worldwide! Once again, Amazon does ship many items to Singapore either free or at minimal cost. Which if you actually do the math, in some cases still comes out cheaper than purchasing it here. Also, look into mail services like VPost to send your overseas packages to Singapore. You can also check out some buy/sell websites like Shopee, Carousell, Gumtree, Qoo10 and other classified ads for used Christmas trees and decorations.

You might be able to get a really good deal and some really unique ornaments. – Return Your Live Tree. If you are purchasing real Xmas tree, find out if the store will take back (recycle) your tree after Christmas. Many nurseries, as well as IKEA will take back your real tree and refund a portion of your money. – Become a Seller. If you decide you no longer want your artificial Christmas tree or decorations from the previous year, you can sell them and still make back some of your initial investment. You can list your items at anytime, but you will probably only get a truly interested buyer between mid-October to December. – Plan for Next Year. Shop the day after Christmas to get deals and 1/2 price decorations for next year. Yes you will need to store the after-Christmas purchases for the next 11 months in your home, but for 50+% off, it’s might be worth it! Plan on going to many stores to buy the perfect tree and get it decorated. Don’t get discouraged, think of it as a Singapore shopping adventure.
